Part 2: Character Rules

Behavior
Be nice and respectful! If you act like any of the following: arrogant, know it all, bossy, rude, stuffy, or any thing like that which causes annoyance in the community and we get complaints, you are gonna get a stern talking to or just banned. We want this to be FUUUUN not OMFG CHAOTIC(In terms of OOC, IC chaos is fun XD)!

Spying and Harassment
I cannot begin to stress how irritating and annoying this is! I never thought I'd have to do this but after receiving a complaint from one of our members about this, it needs to be posted up here. Are you one of those people who like to check on things then report it to someone else because they're blocked from here? Well let me tell you, that's strictly prohibited and we won't allow it for a single moment if it's brought to our attention. Even more so if one or more of our members are being harassed because another site's drama. Please, throw me a cake snack and hand me some tea e__e we're here to have fun and be a nice community. So...in short, don't send little spies over here to see what we're doing and snag things from us, we're not sending people to spy on sites and doing stupid crap like that...so don't pull that bull over here. If we find out you're being a `source`/spy, trust me...it's not going to be pretty because we, the staff, watch over and care for the community, their ideas, and well-being.

NO GODMODING!!!!!
This one gets broken, you're outta here or getting a big fat lecture! No if ands or buts about it! You wanna move someone's character to move things along, ask them. This also means NO forced hits unless the person gives you the ok! This pretty much means you gotta give room for the person's character to react or else it's just not cool. Constantly dodging is also not ok, no one can ALWAYS avoid an attack with pure perfection. If you put `Dodges the attack` or something like that, you'll get a message to go into further detail about HOW it was dodged. Mainly because the person you're posting with needs to understand your character's movement to make a proper action along with the readers not being left to have a big fat `WTF` moment of doom. Disciplinary action will be taken based on complaints.

Portrayal
RP your characters as close as possible to their comic/game/movie/show selves. No one likes it when you RP based on out of context fandom, Example: Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon falling in love with someone other than Mamoru Chiba/Tuxedo Mask and vice versa. So, in other words, character portrayal is VERY important! We, the admins will deal with "out of character"-esque portrayals. If you, the members have a complaint, inform the admins and we'll look into it.

Keep in mind that if I don't know much about the character and I get a report about an OOC-esque post, I will RESEARCH and ANALYZE the character to have an opinion of my own. Another example is let's say the RPer of Sailor Moon is mad at the RPer of Sailor Mecury, these two usually get along very well. If Sailor Moon started to act all fussy and rude tward Sailor Mercury for no apparent reason (Or a very poor and lame reason which doesn't make sense) then I'd get on your case and try to help you solve the problem. (I'll admit, these rules seem a bit much, but once you read through them, it'll make sense ^^)

Continuity
Keep track of all of your threads! Continuity is important since it plays a role in character development! Meaning YES, you can have more than one thread as long as you can maintain continuity. :3 Check the next rule for more info <3

Character Development
Ok, so now onward to character development, what happens in a thread should have some sort of impact on your characters and referenced every now and then. Examples of this are events, friendships, enemies, people they meet, that sort of thing! We even have a section where you can create a timeline and note the events your character went through ^^! Mainly because as we know, as the RP progresses, things will change for your character. It's a crossover, so obviously the characters will have different ties than they would in their respective series.

Cussing
Don't go on a big, fat cussing spree. In other words, don't over do it with the f-bombs and such. Especially if cussing is offensive to someone you're RPing with. If you have doubts and know your character tends to cuss a lot, please contact the RPer and give them a heads-up about this. In short -__-;;; don't over do it and don't make your character cuss just because you yourself like cussing as if it's going out of style (That falls under the whole OOC issue.).

PG13-ish
Let's keep the site PG13 (Cussing & gore at worst). This is obvious, but NO SEX! Okies? You won't find a "naughty" board on here and you never will, you'll automatically be kicked, banned, and all that stuff from the site if we see any of that. Why? Because we like making the site suitable for people under the age of 18 yet still fun all the same :3

Posting Format
Alrighty, posts should be in third person & past tense! The actions should be in third person & past tense and dialogue in first person. YOU ARE NOT THE CHARACTER YOU'RE RPing O__O! Past tense is easier to understand than present tense. Here's an example of both.

Past Tense (What we're looking for)
Suzy walked into the store with a large smile across her lips. As she took each step, the happy girl hummed an upbeat melody.

Present Tense (What we'll ask you to correct)
Suzy walks into the store with a large smile across her lips. As she takes each step, the happy girl hums an upbeat melody.

First Person (We'll ask you to correct this as well)
I walk into the store with a large smile across my lips. As I take each step, I'm happily huming an upbeat melody.

This is just to avoid confusion! ^^

Fighting Format
The fights here will be in T1 format. That means you can explain your attack, but not mentioning it hitting the person. This'll give them time to react.

Posting Length
At least seven sentences to two paragraphs (two five sentence paragraphs) per post, please! This should be plenty to portray your character, what they're thinking, movement, surroundings, appearance, lotsa stuff!

Spelling & Grammar
Grammar and spelling is important! If one of the admins modify your post DO NOT PANIC, we're just fixing up errors for you! One of us will only do that if we think others might have difficulty understanding your post. We have spell check for the spelling part though, so please use it :3

Rule Updates
Check up on the rules every now and then, something new might be added to help keep things a bit more in order! I'll usually post an announcement or mention something in the c-box!

Advertising & Affiliates
PLEASE do not advertise on our C-Box! You can have a link to your site in your name, that's just fine. But if you're posting your Ad in our C-Box, it'll probably be pushed down and out of view. So please, post it in the Advertising section if you just want to advertise, your ad will last longer that way. Potential affiliates, post your request in the Affiliate sub-board!

C-Box
In the C-Box, this should be a given, but DO NOT impersonate other people. If this goes on, I'll move the c-box elsewhere or even just remove it. Guests are allowed to post, just be polite and we won't have any problems! Also, DO NOT use avatars that have pornography...it's pretty clear that we don't allow smut on here -_-;

More than one character
If you want to apply for another character, you'll need to make another account. Over here, you get to start out with 5/5 (5 canon, 5 OC) characters. You can earn more out of good behavior and activity on the board. The current max is 10/10 (10 canon, 10 OC.) characters, the character count doesn't include NPCs. If you want an NPC account, let me know and I'll set you up with one. Spoofs also DO NOT apply to the character count because they're pretty much around to make things amusing and such!

The max is subject to change, so check up on here once in a while!

Avatar & Signature
PLEASE have an avatar and signature of your character to help people give a better visual of your character. If you have an OC/Custom Character, look for a picture base (Check the Character Rules about the piccy base!). We have a request section where you can ask for graphics if you're having trouble finding any ^^ For sigs, make sure they don't stretch the screen! So keep it at about 550 to avoid stretching out the site. If it's too big, a staff member will contact you and request that you make the sig smaller.

Wait until you're approved
DO NOT, I repeat...DO NOT POST until your character is approved! What I mean by post is an RP post, I don't mind if you post around in the OOC sections if you're unapproved ^^

ACTIVITY CHECKS
We WILL have activity checks and you MUST post on them or at least contact me that you're still active when I, or the other admin post up an activity check! If you don't post in time, you'll lose your character. Keep in mind that you can retrieve your character by contacting one of the staff members. But PLEASE do your best to post on the activity checks! They'll be at random, expect them monthly though.

ABSENCE POLICY
If you think you'll be away or not able to post very often, LET US KNOW! We have a board for you to introduce yourself AND to keep us informed that something came up. I'm usually very understanding about this, but don't abuse that or I'll become a scary strict monster. Just be considerate and let us know if something might come up ^^ As long as we're aware that something came up, we won't hold it against you.

RESERVATION POLICY
If you've RESERVED a character with us, then you're expected to make a profile for that character within a week. If you don't post the profile within that time, then your character will become fair game. You can still apply for the character, but keep in mind that someone else may or may not snag them.
NOTE: In order to reserve a character with us, you need to contact one of the admins. We're pretty understanding about this rule, so if you're taking a bit long but are VERY sincere about taking the character, let the staff know and we'll be nice about it.

CHARACTER START-UP
When you've made a profile, you're expected to make a post for that character within 2^1/2 weeks. If you don't, your character will be looked at as abandoned and shipped off to the Daycare/Retirement Home. (We won't hold it against you if you let us know you'll be unable to post! This is why it's important to keep us informed ^^) You can pick up your character again, just keep in mind to follow this rule! If we don't hear from you and you RP an OC, it'll be deleted due to how we want to avoid OC theft. (This rule mainly refers to those who aren't active/JUST joined [If you're new and we don't know you x.x it's not really easy to determine if you're active or not.] and/or have a canon character that's very popular. That way, important plots can move forward)

NOTE!: In the event you haven't started your character up yet, but the staff knows you're very sincere about keeping the character, we'll be far more understanding.

ACCOUNT ABANDONMENT
If you don't AT LEAST make a profile within 3 weeks of making your account, we'll assume that you've abandoned the character and have no interest in that character anymore. OR if you don't keep in contact with the staff in charge of dealing with accounts about why you haven't got a profile up yet. You can get it back and all, but clutter isn't nice. We'll attempt to contact you as well just in case anything came up.

NPC POLICY
Non Player Characters are intended to move the story along! So, you know what this means, right? You'll be allowed to have an NPC account if you are as active as you can be on here.

These skins are OUR skins...
Common sense, but I want to point it out that these are OUR skins and the staff has put their hard work into them. If we find that our hard work is on some other site that we're not even part of, then you can bet hell hath no fury like angry graphic artists. So please, don't take any part of our skins and plaster them on your/other sites. We've put lots of hard work into them...so don't be a lazy butt, make your own graphics e__e

Plagarism
Give credit where credit is due. If you didn't take the time to write something up on your own or re-write it and all you did was copy and paste, don't take credit for it. I mentioned this before and I'll mention it again...DO NOT copy someone elses OC! I'll take action if I get a report with the proper evidence.
